Company History / What We Do

North Berkeley Properties is a full service property management company that focuses on multi-family buildings in the Berkeley area. Our portfolio includes both small and large buildings in North Berkeley and across a diverse area of the city including Downtown, Northside, Southside, South Berkeley, and Elmwood.

Founded in 1999, North Berkeley Properties was originally located in the heart of Berkeley’s ‘Gourmet Ghetto’ neighborhood by Shattuck & Rose. Over the years, North Berkeley Properties expanded its portfolio of managed properties to include buildings located in other neighborhoods of Berkeley. In 2007, the management office relocated to Downtown Berkeley where we continue to operate today.

North Berkeley Properties is currently managing an extensive portfolio of properties and we are currently not accepting additional clients or managing additional buildings or providing leasing services.  Despite our company name, we also do not broker the sales or purchases of homes in Berkeley or North Berkeley.

AP Management & North Berkeley Properties:

Both companies are local to Berkeley and co-share the same office space at 2115 Kala Bagai Way.  Although separately owned and managed, both companies started partnering together in 2021 to better serve residents living across all our properties.

North Berkeley Properties is assisting with the listing of AP Management properties but both offices offer full-service property management services (lease signing, accounting, maintenance) to their residents directly.

Our office is located in Downtown Berkeley between Arinell Pizza and Scandinavian Designs.  The nearest cross-streets are Center Street and Addison Street.

The Downtown Berkeley BART station is 1 block away and a Bear Transit + LBNL shuttles stop in front of our building.

Please note that the main entry to the building is always locked.  Visitors should use the intercom to the left of the entrance to gain access during business hours.

COVID-19 Guidance: All visitors must have an appointment!  Please do not come by our office if you have been exposed to COVID, have COVID symptoms, or come in contact with someone infected with COVID.

Our office hours are Weekdays only 10am – 5pm with a lunch break occurring around 1-2pm.  We are closed on weekends and for all federal holidays.

Parking:

Please note that we do not have a private parking lot and there is limited street parking in the Downtown Berkeley area.  Parking may also be impacted during the 12-1PM peak period.

Most spaces will be metered and limited to 2 hours.  The nearest off-street paid parking lots are located on Center Street / Addison Street (City of Berkeley Center Street Garage – between Milvia and Shattuck) and the Allston Way Garage (2061 Allston Way).
